True North’s stellar award year in 2013 continues.
Australia’s premier luxury adventure-cruise ship, the True North, has scooped the ‘Best Expedition or Adventure Cruising Ship’ prize at the prestigious 2013 Australian Gourmet Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards.
The award was presented to North Star Cruises by Catriona Rowntree and Australian Gourmet Traveller editor Anthea Loucas at a dinner at The Conservatory Restaurant at Crown Towers Melbourne earlier this week.
Gourmet Traveller praised the ship for being ‘a genuine expedition cruise that bypasses the tourist routes in favour of steering passengers well off the beaten track’. It was also commented that ‘with 25 years of Kimberley exploration under its hull, no cruise line knows the charms of Australia’s wild-west coastline better than North Star.’
The Gourmet Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards are the most revered luxury travel consumer awards in Australia and celebrate the best of the country’s tourism products and travel experiences.

This week’s win is the latest recognition for True North and follows three impressive Luxury Travel Magazine Gold List Awards, won in April 2013. True North also secured a win at the Cruise Passenger Magazine’s Reader’s Choice Awards in February 2013.
