A ‘safari’ will never be the same again after adventuring through the breathtaking Southern Australian coast. From lunch at Maggie Beer’s Farm, the delights of Kangaroo Island, oysters in Coffin Bay, to cage diving with Great White Sharks and unbelievable fishing action, you’ll be awestruck at what South Australia has to offer.
Please note: This is a sample itinerary only. Prevailing conditions, local arrangements and indeed, what we discover on the day, may cause variation. Charter flight between Ceduna and Adelaide is included in the tariff. Helicopter flights can be purchased additional to the indicated tariff as a package or individually.

ITINERARY
Welcome Aboard
Begin your adventure by being taken to the foothills of Adelaide and into Penfolds’ Magill Estate. Not only will you discover the fine drops and rich history of this iconic Australian wine labels, you’ll also be taken to The Farm Eatery - the home of Australia’s kitchen queen, Maggie Beer. Then it’s time to welcome you aboard the mighty True North. Enjoy a welcome aboard cocktail, settle into your cabin and indulge in more culinary delight as we begin the evening cruise to Victor Harbour.
The North Coast
Today we explore Kangaroo’s stunning north coast where farmlands roll onto sandy coves. We’ll visit Emu Bay, Stokes Bay, Cape Dutton and Cape Forbes. Your day will be filled with snorkeling, beachcombing, close encounters with seals and dolphins, and fishing for ‘monster’ whiting.
Kangaroo Island
Kangaroo Island is an unspoiled beauty, with its pristine beaches, rugged coastal cliffs, seaside cottages and undisturbed native bushland home to koalas, platypi, echidnas, sea lions, penguins, goannas, kangaroos and wallabies. Here we’ll road-trip to Flinders Chase National Park and witness the breathtaking natural sculptures The Remarkable Rocks before boardwalking to The Admirals Arch and then looking out for the local seal colonies. We’ll then rejoin the True North for a cruise to the quiet fishing village, American River for some bird-watching and a fish.
Great White Sharks
Today is the day you’ll be able to experience a once-in-a-lifetime adventure, diving with Great White Sharks. Join our experienced local operator to see these mighty creatures up close and in their natural environment. Alternatively, you can join us for an exploration of the Gambier Islands and fish for whiting in a secluded bay. Then in the afternoon we’ll join the crew at historic Memory Cove for beach drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
Port Lincoln
This morning we’ll visit Port Lincoln and learn about it’s Southern Bluefin Tuna industry before sampling the prized fish. Then, enjoy a hike on the walk trails in the Lincoln National Park and end the day with drinks & hor dourves on sunset at the beach.
Coffin Bay
Wake up in beautiful Coffin Bay known for its endless tranquil bays fringed with sandy beaches and surrounded by national park. In the morning we’ll visit Farm beach where you can fish or enjoy it’s perfect long stretch of beach. Then in the afternoon indulge in the local produce, seafood, wine & beers of Yarnbala with a soundtrack of live music. You’ll also be able to take to the skies on a scenic helicopter flight for a breathtaking view of Coffin Bay and the Great Australian Bight spotting ancient cliff tops, turquoise waters and extensive stretches of white sandy beach.
Flinders Island
At Flinders Island we’ll meet the family who owns the land and learn about their rich Abalone diving history. They’ll then come aboard for a presentation about the industry before bringing out freshly caught abalone to cook up for us.
Picturesque Streaky Bay
The picturesque township of Streaky Bay is located on the western coast of the Eyre Peninsula. In the morning we’ll visit the National Trust Museum where we’ll discover the fascinating history of pioneering families and the sailing exploration of the area. Alternatively jump in an adventure boat and set off in search of the revered blue manna crab. Then in the afternoon we’ll visit the sheltered bays of the Franklin Islands, home to countless shear waters that nest in shallow burrows. Here we’ll spend the afternoon exploring, fishing, snorkeling and diving before enjoying your last night on-board the magnificent True North.
Return to Adelaide
Early morning disembarkation in Smoky Bay followed by a short bus transfer to Ceduna and light aircraft transfer to Adelaide.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are transfers to & from the vessel included in the cost?
Guests are all collected from a central Adelaide hotel via our arranged private charter, and we spend a lovely day enjoying the Barossa Valley Wine Region before making our way to the TRUE NORTH in the afternoon. Upon disembarkation in Ceduna, you will be flown by private charter back to Adelaide, arriving at approximately 11:30.
Does SCUBA diving feature on this itinerary?
There is the opportunity to cage-dive with the great white sharks where all equipment, including wetsuits is provided. Scuba gear is otherwise not required.
Are all land based activities included in the fare?
Yes! However there are many tempting opportunities to purchase local produce during shore excursions - especially during our time in the Barossa and whilst we are exploring Kangaroo Island. Hence it’s always a good idea to bring some spending money.
What is the weather like in South Australia during January?
Our unique scheduling ensures that the TRUE NORTH is always in the right place at the right time. We expect warm conditions with not more than moderate winds. A light spray jacket is handy for the adventure boats but you can leave the ‘warm woolies’ at home.
Will the helicopter accompany this cruise?
No. The land based activities on this itinerary do not require the use of a helicopter. You truly will feel like you are on a land & sea safari!
