The untouched beauty of this place was truly mesmerising. The crystal-clear waters, the vibrant marine life, and the warm hospitality of the local people made our visit to Bougainville a memory to cherish. Our visit to the Trobriand atolls was equally memorable. Known as the 'Islands of Love', the Trobriand atolls offered a unique insight into the local culture and traditions. The picturesque scenery, combined with the fascinating history of the islands, made our stay in the Trobriand atolls an enriching experience. A special mention must be made of our guide, Simon Tewson. His extensive local knowledge and experience greatly enhanced our trip. Simon's passion for the region and its culture was evident in his every interaction, making our journey all the more engaging and informative. The service provided by the True North team was outstanding. Every member of the crew was professional, attentive, and genuinely committed to ensuring we had the best experience possible. Their knowledge of the region and its history added depth to our adventure, making it not just a trip, but a truly educational experience. The food was another highlight of the trip. Each meal was a culinary delight, with a variety of dishes that catered to every palate. The quality of the ingredients, the presentation of the food, and the skill of the chefs were truly commendable. It was clear that a lot of thought and care had been put into each dish, making every mealtime a special occasion. Our Sepik Soiree 2 adventure went above and beyond anything we could have imagined. It was totally awesome. With a mixture of history, culture and nature the crew and expert staff guided us into areas rarely visited. We were expo...sed to a variety of ancient cultures, their traditions and way of life as well as the beauty of the natural flora and rainforest covering of the islands(and below the ocean).All from the comfort and luxury of the True North. I’m really at a loss to think how the whole True North experience could be enhanced. The whole experience from the activities to the food, accommodation, itinerary, EXCELLENT crew and overall ship is beyond world class. I really... love that it offers something that is adventure combined with comfort – I mean luxury – and has such an Aussie down to earth, welcoming approach that is world class. An amazing experience: The True North staff were so accommodating with an uncommon level of service: the assisted and literally held my wife’s hand so that she could experience the majesty & wonder of the Whale sharks of Cendera...wasih Bay. These gentle giants are so large but glide gracefully and as a snorkeller, you get to see so much and be close to the action as they inhale the fish at the bagan fishing platforms unlike having to swim in the ocean as the whale sharks swim past. It was also good to see the other culture of the Aisandami coastal fishing village with the welcoming villagers. The children even formed a dancing drumming parade around me escorting me into the village: an unforgettable birthday! Read more
